Site News/Updates

9/1/07 - So the site is finally back! I do apologize for the delay in the return of the site. As many of you know,
the site was forced to remove some songs by the RIAA back in April and to err on the side of caution, the whole site was
pulled down until I could sort out what could still be shared without being shut down completely. So, as you will now notice,
any demo or b-side of anything off of XO or Figure 8 (which were released by Dreamworks, and are not RIAA-safe)
has been removed. The songs exist out there in the world of the internet, and you can easily find them with a little
searching, but this site won't be housing them. The site will never be as great as it once was, but I still wanted to provide
what I could to the other amazing fans out there. Thanks for all of the support!

Also, with the release of the New Moon compilation this year, any of the songs off of that great two disc set have
been removed from the site, as New Moon provides much higher quality than any mp3 that was offered here.

Last, but not least, I do apologize to any fans that got excited assuming with the relaunch that there would be some new song
to offer, but there is nothing available that has not previously leaked. The best that can be done is adding the beautiful
songs, Place Pigalle, to the Place Pigalle demos page and Two Timed (which is an earlier version of Go By) to the Misc Songs page.

Purpose of this Site

This site is for the fans. Because I love the music of Elliott Smith so much, every song has been a discovery for me,
so I've spent the past few years collecting every non-album track I could find. I would like to share the rewards of my search
and purchases with all the people who appreciate this music as much as I do. This site includes mp3s of non-album,
non-available tracks. For compliations & singles that can still be purchased, I have provided links to where you can pick
these discs up. For out-of-print selections, I'd recommend trying your local record shop. If that fails, try Ebay or sellers
through Amazon.com. This site is a work in progress, so please e-mail me if you find any errors, have any new info/songs,
or have a better quality mp3. I hope you enjoy the site. We'll miss you, Elliott.
